The auction is over and I am happy to reveal the vinyl sleeve I created for the @secret7s exhibition in support of @warchilduk.
My sleeve was a response to the track ‘Lullaby’ by @siouxsieandthebanshees. Thank you to the person that bought this. There were over 30 bids, which is mad!
It’s been brilliant to be involved this year alongside so many talented contributors and to raise money in support of War Child’s work in conflict zones around the world.
Good fun at the Secret 7″ private view last night at Now Gallery and great to see my vinyl sleeve alongside all the brilliant contributions while trying to guess the tracks and artists.
Secret 7” takes 7 tracks from 7 musicians and presses each one 100 times onto 7” vinyl. They then invite creatives from around the world to contribute artwork for the vinyl sleeves. The visual artist and track inside are a mystery until the record is sold. All money raised will support War Child’s work in conflict zones around the world. To see all 700 sleeves and to place your bid, go to @peggy or peggy.com/secret7
The tracks…
Aurora – A different Kind of Human
Celeste – Stop This Flame
The Chemical Brothers – Skipping Like a Stone
Hozier – Swan Upon Leda
Paul McCartney – Pipes of Peaces
Siouxsie and the Banshees – Lullaby
The Specials – We Sell Hope

The second edition of Left Cultures has arrived and it includes an illustration I created for a piece titled ‘Strike Badge’ by Alison Winch.
Left Cultures delves into the left’s cultural past to discuss gems of storytelling within film, literature, music, art and poetry. Buy a copy from the Left Cultures website… https://leftcultures.com/products/issue-02
Strike Badge – A new illustration for the second edition of Left Cultures, out now.
The illustration is a response to a piece by Alison Winch about growing up in Leeds in the early 80’s and making sense of the miner’s struggle and politics through the lens of popular TV culture of the time… “memories blur with television images of police on horses, truncheons, blue suits and handbags, adverts for Persil and Domestic Toilet Cleaner, lines of miners, Newsround and He-Man”.
This second edition really is an outstanding read and I’m very happy to have contributed again to this truly brilliant publication alongside so many amazing voices. There’s a limited print run of 1500 copies. Buy one from the Left Cultures shop… https://leftcultures.com/products/issue-02
There will be an online auction of postcard-sized artworks by over 500 artists, illustrators and celebrities, taking place between 15th-17th September. I’ll definitely be placing a bid or two when the auction opens next month… https://www.epilepsy.org.uk/involved/fundraising/national-doodle-day
‘Encounters in Experimental Film’, takes place at the Art Museum at the University of Toronto (@artmuseumuoft) on Wednesday July 5th from 6-8 PM.
Join the Art Museum for a screening of four films from @savac_ ‘s Monitor series that expanded MVS Studio graduate Nimisha Bhanot’s artistic practice (@nimishabhanot). Following the screening, listen to a discussion with Bhanot and Indu Vashist (@indu_geita), Executive Director at SAVAC, on the films, SAVAC’s Monitor series, and Bhanot’s research.
This event is free and all are welcome. Due to capacity limits, registration is required.
Encounters in Experimental Film brings together four films from SAVAC’s Monitor series which align with criteria Bhanot seeks in her research (largely influenced by Dr. Dina Georgis’ research on The Aesthetics of Radical Hope)—rage, joy, pain, and refusal.
Films included in the screening:
1. I Love My India (2003) by Tejal Shah from Monitor 1 2. Partition (2009) by Holly Rodricks from Monitor 6 3. Rearview Mirror (1966–2011) by the late P.Mansaram from Monitor 8 4. Shaai (Ink) (2009) by Smriti Mehra and Matt Lee from Monitor 9
